Our purpose is Working for the Local Community

Harlow Lions Club is part of the International Association of Lions Clubs. Lions are members of community service clubs, dedicated to the idea that the men and women who live in a community are in the best position to know those less fortunate who could use some additional support.

Lions are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 202 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world. The association is both non-political and non-sectarian. Harlow Lions Club was chartered in September 1980.

The running costs of Harlow Lions Club, like those of all other Lions Clubs, are met by subscriptions paid by its members, so all monies raised from the public are used for charitable purposes.....

About Us....

Harlow Lions was developed in 1980 out of a desire to help those less fortunate than ourselves. Since it's inception, we have worked hard, often un-noticed, to provide support where it is most needed, by way of providing manpower to other local charities such as Help the Aged, St Clare's Hospice, MacMillan Nurses and many more.

Our team relies on it's members and more importantly on other volunteers. Remember, a little often goes a long way. From helping to deliver Hampers to the elderly at Christmas to marshalling at the midnight run with St Clare's Hospice or the Harlow Bonfire Night - every little helps.

Social

Whilst raising funds is important, so is the social side of the Club. We meet every month at The Crown Pub in Old Harlow, Market Street for a drink and a chat about current issues. This is usually a fairly informal event. Other social events include; Quiz nights, Dog racing, ten-pin bowling, concerts and meals. These are always available to Lions Members, volunteers and their partners, why not pop along and meet us on the 1st Thursday of the month. (see diary page for changes)

90% of all monies raised are used locally in Harlow

The remaining monies going to National and International causes
